South Florida men were treated to something very special Memorial Day weekend when CUPIDS West Palm Beach (www.cupidscabaret.com ) brought the HOT and SENSUOUS Shane Rollins to town for two nights of Below the Belt Excitement.  His performance gets and EXTRA LARGE Boxer Bulge in my book. 

Brandy, owner of Cupids Cabaret was the perfect hostess and hired a limousine to take eight of us up for the Saturday night show.  The limo picked me up (Gio) at my home and joining me were Howard G.M.of Circuit (www.circuitbar.com ) and Fabscout Entertainment(www.fabscout.com ) along with Jay Armstrong, new porn-actor who has two up-coming movies being released this summer from MASSIVE Studios and TITAN Media.  (Stay tuned, as I will feature Jay in an upcoming story very soon).  We then stopped off at Circuit to pick up the rest of our group.   Rounding out the rest of the gang were the ever-impressive Mark from www.JumponMarksList.com , stud Javier, local Budweiser Marketing Manager, the talented and sexy Eric Herb, from PopLife Graphics – known for all the spectacular ads he creates for clubs around town, and photographer extraordinaire Mike Mayberry, from 411 Magazine. And our No-Show guest Scott Holland (How’s you tummy?) awww… Needless to say, we were a lively crew on the drive up to see Shane Rollins and the other Hot Cupids dancers.  At this point none of us knew how much livelier our night would be!

When Shane Rollins debuted at San Francisco's infamous Nob Hill Theater, all who saw him could not argue that the his beautiful body and baseball bat cock made for great jack-off material. However, it took Raging Stallion director Chris Ward's eagle eye too see the real potential and, after testing him in some solos and an occasional scene, Ward cast Rollins to star opposite Michael Soldier in the 2003 epic A Porn Star is Born. Rollins' rise to the top off screen was as quick as his character's and, at the 2004 GayVN Awards, Rollins took home the prize for Best Threesome for his scene in Gay Dreams.

Shane Rollins is a voracious top and a fervid bottom. Whether riding Michael Brandon's "Monster" or fucking the hell out of muscle bottom Troy Punk, Shane the Beautiful (as he affectionately calls himself) is a hell of a sexual performer. It's rare that a porn star is so honestly versatile that we can't decide if we'd rather bottom or top for him.  

Shane was kind enough to sit down with me before his climax show at CUPIDS and share some intimate details of his life, sex, the porn industry and his passions. 

Sitting in the back of the Limousine I kicked back with Shane and got to know him a little better.  I must say that not only is he impressive in the movies but he is truly a genuine nice guy up close and in person.

GIO     I know Chris Ward discovered you while dancing at the Nob Hill Theater in San Francisco, but what made you decide to pursue performing in adult films? 

SR      It was kind of a natural progression I guess, I never considered it to be like a bad thing to do… like some other people may think.  They approached me and I thought, sure…why not?   Prior to being approached, I had never thought about doing it before, but I thought it would cool since I enjoy showing off my body. 

GIO     Well you are very good at showing off your body that is for sure!  Our whole group cannot wait until your “climax” show later tonight. Oh, and thank you for not shaving your chest lately, I prefer and love the furry look, it is HOT! 

SR      Yeah?  You like it?  I also prefer the natural look of a hairy man.  By the way, you are handsome yourself… (Gives me an evil sexy grin) 

GIO     OK, OK – flattery will get you everywhere… Is it getting hot in here?  (Deep breath) let’s get back to the interview… How was your first experience on set and in front of the camera?   

SR      My first experience was just a solo scene actually, so it was pretty easy.  It was just me jerking off, I found it easy to block everyone out, close my eyes and bust a load.  Plus I have never been shy about being in front of people in the first place. After the solo scene, they liked the way I was on camera because I did not come across as nervous or shy.  They always like to try someone out first, because you never know how someone will be on camera.  So after they saw I was not shy and I could perform well on camera they said let’s do a couple films and I was like, OK! Count me in! 

GIO     Are there any embarrassing moments that have happened while you were on set?  

SR      Embarrassing moments?  Hmmmm…There are always funny moments.  It is weird sometimes, you are there having sex with 2 or 3 people and trying not to be aware of what is going on around you and focusing on the scent and then something happens and you find yourself trying not to laugh, the action is still going on and then the Director yells cut and then all of us just start bursting out with uncontrolled laughter.  You never see it in the finished product, but sometimes they show it in the DVD Extras section…  Porno bloopers are funny.  Actually, when the studio sends me a copy of one of my DVD’s to view, the first thing I will watch is the extras or bloopers.  After all, I was there; I know how great the sex was and what we did; now I want to see all the funny stuff.  I get a big kick out of watching that stuff.  To me, I just watch the films to see how well it was shot and if it looks good overall. 

GIO     How funny!  I also go directly to the “extras” section of the DVD as well.  That is where you get a glimpse into the real person behind the Porn-Star Image created in the movie.  Plus I also love to laugh at the bloopers.  If you could choose anyone to co-star with you on a project, who would it be and why? 

SR      You know, honestly I am not picky.  I get asked all the time if I ever have to work with somebody that I do not consider attractive.  The way I look at it is yeah…I have worked with a lot of people that I do not consider attractive, but I am there to do a job and put on a performance and when people watch the scene they would never know how I really feel.  Sometimes you are pared with a guy that you think is very hot and then he turns out to really suck to perform with.  Either the chemistry is not there or you are just not compatible.  And then you may be pared with some people that you may not find all that attractive and then you get on set and you find yourself going… Wow this guy is really fun and hot, you never know.  So if you go in expecting something, you may be disappointed and so I do not set expectations to high and when I arrive on the set.  I just work toward giving best performance I can.  Of course, when the chemistry is right then I really have a blast and it makes it much easier! 

GIO     Wow, what and amazing approach you have to your work.  It is obvious that you truly are a consummate professional in this business. What advice would you give to anyone wanting to become a porn actor?

SR      Uhh – the best advice I would give if they are really serious about getting into it, and they really want to do it, is to be hard and firm about your convictions.  Because; the companies will try to use you for the best of their needs and their profits without caring about you as a person sometimes.  So you need to stand up for yourself when it comes to what you are willing to do and what you wont do on film. Do not let anyone talk you into doing something that you are not comfortable with and do not be afraid to say no.  After all, it is your body and image and only you can protect that.  Make sure to be smart with the money you make and do not do drugs!  So the best advice I have in general is do not piss your money away on shit like crystal-meth, it is just plain stupid. Don’t do drugs!!! 

GIO     That is excellent advice and from what I can tell, you have made very good choices thus far in your life.  I must also say it is great to hear you are drug-free, as I am too!  Outside of the porn world, what are you most passionate about? 

SR      I love sports!  I love baseball, playing golf and playing cards…like poker.  It is funny, outside the gay porn industry I am very very very straight acting.  Most people who meet me do not think I am gay or bi-sexual.  I go to the batting cages all the time and work on my swing.  All the people there have no clue that I am a porn-star.  That often shocks the ones that find out, since they think of me as a regular average guy.  The SF Giants are my favorite baseball team.  

GIO     Well batting practice has sure paid off for you!  You swing your bat very well! (both laugh).  I understand you lived in Las Vegas for a while, what brought you there and where are you living these days? 

SR      I was in Vegas for a short period of time, opening a Company down there.  But right about a month before I went there I had gotten back together with an Ex of mine and I found it very tough going back-and-forth, so I decided to go back to the Bay Area.  San Jose is home for me now.  It is funny; I say San Jose and most people are like…where?  It is a great town with a heavy Latin population and it is cool living there with all the diversity.  Plus, I am very close to San Francisco and I grew up in the East Bay, so I have been in this area all my life.  I love it out there.

GIO     Very cool.  My partner used to live in San Jose as well and when I visited there I really liked the area.  So, what new and exciting things are you working on right now? 

SR      I had a movie that just came out called TRUNKS, I filmed for Hot House, so that is the latest release to come out.  As far as movies… I know I am gonna shoot again with Hot House later this month.  I shot a piece for ALL WORLDS a couple months ago that has not been release yet and I have another one contracted with them that is going to be a bi-sexual movie.  (This is Shane’s second bi-sexual film)  They are pretty fun.  And then hopefully I am going to direct a movie for ALL WORLDS later this summer for Rick Ford.  Rick is a great man and he will give me Directing Credits. A lot of the other studios do not allow that type of crossover because they have their own in-house directors.  I am really looking forward to directing and I think it will be cool to put my thumbprint on a complete film.  Plus it gives me something else to do in the industry for when the studios do not want to hire me as a performer anymore because I am too old and not attractive anymore (he laughs).   

GIO     Nah, you will still be beautiful into old age I am sure.  (He blushes with an evil sexy grin).  Speaking of your great looks, are you ever recognized in public and if so how does that make you feel?   

SR      Yes I am and sometimes it is very awkward.  Some people really have no class (laughs) you know what I mean? They will run up and be like “Hey!  Shane Rollins, Oh My God!!!  I really love your ….(insert various expletives)” or something like that.  That is not necessarily a bad thing, but if I am with someone, they do not know if the person I am with knows about what I do for a living.  Not that it is a problem, most of the time, because most of my friends already know what I do.  But at the same time, I do get upset about it because that person approaching me does not know anything about the other person I am with and that could upset the other person.  As long as people are discreet about it when they approach me in public, I totally do not mind and I appreciate it because they are showing respect towards me.   But when they just totally barge in on my space, I do not like that. 

GIO     I can imagine how awkward that may be.  I have actually seen other porn actors out in public with friends and I would never think about barging in on their space and start talking about their greatest sex scene, etc.  Once I even saw a well-known porn-star eating lunch with his mother in Fort Lauderdale.  Can you imagine how tacky it would be to have a complete stranger barge in on you at that moment? 

SR      I know!  That would totally suck… 

GIO     So, enough about all that.  You already know I am a fan of your films and porn in general, but I also like regular movies as well, tell me what DVD do you currently have in your player at home? 

SR      hmm…. Now that is an interesting question.  The last movie I watched was…hmmm,,,..I cannot remember what I have in my DVD player right now.  However, my favorite movie is SWINGERS and I watched DODGEBALL recently, I really like comedies.  I also like war movies and gangster movies.  Al Pacino is awesome, I love HEAT. 

GIO     That is a great classic gangster film.  Cool… So how has your visit to south Florida been and did you have a chance to have some fun outside your performances? 

SR      Well I flew in Thursday and I fly back-out Sunday, tomorrow.  As for fun, No…When I travel I usually do not go out partying when I travel, I just go work the club, go back to hotel get my sleep and then focus on the next days performance.  I am here to perform a show and they hired me to be my best, so for me to go out to bars and party would not be fair to the person that hired me.  I would not want to show up to perform and not be at my best, you know what I mean? 

GIO     I hear you Shane.  All work and no play! Hahah Just kidding…  So this is your second time performing at Cupids Cabaret.  Are you still be represented by David Forest for your bookings?  How is it working with him as an agent? 

SR      Yes, I went to David Forest after I left Raging Stallion and although there is some bad rap about him in the industry, overall he does right by his Stars in my opinion.  He fights for our rights and works hard to make sure we are getting top dollar for our performances and makes sure we are treated right.  As an agent that is his job and I appreciate what he has done for me.

GIO     That is great to hear.  Well I know you have another show to get ready for.  I really appreciate you taking the time to meet with me and do this interview.  I am going to introduce you to the gang that came up with me and Brandy tonight, and we will get a few photographs for the site, is that cool with you?
