New York Times:
Some small companies say they are no longer able to get loans from
newly cautious banks as credit tightens across the country, and even
those who do qualify are increasingly reluctant to borrow and
expand, fearful of overextending themselves in the midst of the
financial crisis.

Washington Blade:
Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.)
told the Blade in an exclusive written interview this week that he
appreciates the Log Cabin Republicans’ decision to endorse
him, and he hopes “gay and lesbian Americans will give full
consideration to supporting me.”

Toronto Sun: Police are investigating whether an
independent federal candidate committed a hate crime by telling high
school students homosexuals should be executed. David Popescu
was invited to participate in a federal candidates' discussion at
Sudbury Secondary School on Tuesday. He made the comment after a
student asked his opinion of gay marriage.

Daniel and his accent does not make you melt, his puppy will ;-)

Queerty: Bishop
Jamie Soto of Sacramento pulled a bait-and-switch
at the National Association of Catholic Diocesan Lesbian and Gay
Ministries' conference last weekend. The organization, which
celebrates homosexuality and urges other Catholic group to do the
same, had invited Soto to speak to congregants and spread the good
word. Soto agreed, a move that surprised many of his faithful flock.
"How could such a pious man endorse those sinful queers?" Answer: he
doesn't.

Daily Kos: When he
[Joe Biden] faces off against Sarah Palin Thursday
night, Joe Biden will have his hands full. I should know. I've
debated Governor Palin more than two dozen times. And she's a
master, not of facts, figures, or insightful policy recommendations,
but at the fine art of the nonanswer, the glittering generality.
Against such charms there is little Senator Biden, or anyone, can
do." Updated -- Palin Debate Preview III: Don't
just take my word for it.

That hot-box-of-crazy sketch-comedy show Little Britain is
masterful at popping the pretensions of people who try to act like
they're straight, disabled, female, or sane. From phony divorcée
Bubbles DeVere to lying slag Vicki Pollard and beyond, Matt Lucas
and David Walliams's characters are full of themselves, full
of it, and full-on lovable.

being the surprise third casualty of Dancing with the Stars Tuesday
night. Once the cameras were off Kardashian rushed to the waiting arms of her
family and immediately broke down into tears. Kardashian’s publicist followed
Kim around the press line with a box of Kleenex.

Television Without Pity: There's been a lot of buzz about Dirty Sexy
Money changing showrunners (again) and getting soapier this season, which,
frankly, had us a little concerned. After all, it was so good last season that
we didn't want it to change. Fortunately, Peter Krause (who plays the
lead character, Nick George) took time out of his busy schedule on a
brief trip to New York City to chat via telephone, and let us know that
it's all going to be okay. We also asked him about his past shows, Six Feet
Under and Sports Night, and tried to get him to reveal this
season's Dirty Sexy secrets.

Politico: After delivering
halting, unsteady performances in recent interviews with ABC's
Charlie Gibson and CBS's Katie Couric, expectations are
low for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in Thursday's vice
presidential debate in St. Louis. Yet a review of Palin's
experience during her 2006 campaign for governor, when she engaged
in a long series of debates with her opponents, suggests she is a
more formidable adversary than is widely thought.

AlterNet:Obama's senior
aides believe he is on course for a landslide victory over McCain
and will comfortably exceed most current electoral vote
projections. Their optimism, which is said to be shared by the
Democratic candidate himself, is based on information from private
polling and on faith in the powerful political organization he has
built in the key swing states.
