Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition

This exhibition at the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium takes you on a chronological journey of RMS Titanic, from its design and construction, through its fateful maiden voyage and sinking, to the scientific recovery efforts that made this exhibition of Titanic artifacts possible.

The Exhibition puts you inside the experience, with full-size recreations of some of Titanic's luxurious interior spaces, including a first-class cabin. Titanic's tragic story comes alive in a large wall of ice you can actually touch. It also features a live interactive tour with over 250 artifacts and historic treasures. Click

Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale 

All this month (August), at the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, there is free admission for all visitors.  This does not happen every day so take advantage of it! For more information call them at 954*525-5500. 

Jackson Padgett and Mark Negrete would like to invite everyone to Bill’s 10th Birthday Party on August 24th thru August 27th.  She’s Turning 10 and all the old girl wanted Bill's Filling Station Turns 10was a facelift. The bar will be undergoing some minor cosmetic surgery from Sunday August 20th thru Wednesday August 23rd although the inside bar will be closed the patio bar will remain open during her surgery. The new owners promise to keep the same “gas station theme” of the bar with a new and updated look with 15 TV screens, 2 pool tables (free until 8pm 7 days a week) Country music DJ on Saturdays with huge dance floor, Show tune Videos on Sundays and 3-4-1 well and domestic (yes 3-4-1) on Wednesdays from 9pm to close. Lucky Strike Lanes

will host a night of bowling and music in collaboration with MTV Latin America to benefit Pridelines Youth Services. The event will be held on August 24th from 6:00-9:00 PM and it will feature Peruvian-born DJ Enrique Araujo at the turntables.

Guests will be able to make a suggested minimum voluntary contribution of $10 at the door and Lucky Strike Lanes has pledged to donate $10 for each lane purchased during the event. Reservations are strongly recommended and can be made at 305-532-0307.

Metro Pictures: Part 2 

You may be wondering if this show has to deal with the Metro Golden Mayer Production Company…no.  Metro Pictures “refers to snapshots of the city” and that the works “define, interpret and/or reject the city.”  This show is wide open to interpretation and includes stuff like a set of musical vests that “only when two participants wear them…do the sculptures emit sound.”  The exhibit is on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art until September 17th.  The Museum is located at 770 NE 125th Street in North Miami.  You can either call 305*893-6211 or visit them on the web at www.mocanomi.org for further information.

Shakespeare Festival

Emerging Cinemas Presents
Based on the novel by Ruth Rendell, Aurore Clément, this French romantic thriller will have you on the edge of your seat.  Handsome young man, Phillippe, still living at home with his mother and two sisters, has a promising career ahead of him. At the wedding of his sister Sophie he meets her stunning but strangely aloof bridesmaid, Senta, and it is love at first sight. But Senta’s life and past is shrouded in mystery, and she tells him stories about herself that seem unbelievable. Then she declares that as proof of their love to each other, each of them should kill a total stranger. But is this just another of Senta’s wild stories? And how far is Philippe willing to go, even as his love for her seems to know no limits?
