Picasso's
pizza offers 70 toppings. And we're
not kidding 70, seven -zero! The
toppings include everything from
artichokes and basil (fresh or
fried), roasted shallots and
fennel to hearts of palm and yes,
even pepperoni.
Believe it or not, it's not even the
seventy toppings that made Picasso's
our choice for 6th Best Pizza in
Florida. It's the artistry and the
choice of three styles of pizza;
Saint Louis style that has a very
thin crust and a special blend of
cheeses, New York style with crust
not too thick or thin and a nice
crunch with each bite or
Mediterranean that has a medium
thick crust with olive oil and
garlic instead of tomato sauce.
The
menu includes eight salads, the vast
majority are pretty mainstream like
Caesar, chef and Greek, but we liked
the Surf and Turf topped with tuna
and chicken salad.
If
seventy topping choices on your
pizza won't get you in, you might
try the huge subs with an Italian
flare, like meatball, Italian or
sausage and peppers. There is also a
Kentucky Hot Brown that includes
thin sliced turkey served open faced
on toast with a mornay sauce, bacon,
roasted tomatoes, basil, paprika and
fresh parmesan. It's baked until it
bubbles!
We
highly recommend Picasso's Pizza and
hope that you'll stop in and tell
them you saw them on Mark's List!
