Born to Croatian-American parents in a
small farming area of Ohio,
Chad Hunt grew up between going
to Arizona during the fall/winter months and Ohio in the spring/summer.
After graduating from high school and technical school he married a
woman for 4 years, became a father, divorced, embraced his attraction to
both sexes, starting stripping and then became one of the most
recognized men in Gay porn and he is now finishing up a college degree.
This multi-talented man has way more to offer than what’s below his belt
(and we all know he has the goods down there) I had the opportunity to
sit down with Chad prior to his amazing performance at
Cupids Cabaret and as you will read,

Thank you for taking the time to do
this interview.
Chad
Thank you!
GIO Is this your first time performing in the
South Florida area?
Chad
No, I have performed a couple times in
Fort Lauderdale and Miami at other clubs, but
this is my first time at Cupids.
GIO
Well we are glad to have you back! Everyone knows that you have been in the gay
porn industry for a while now. How did you make the move from exotic dancing to
exposing all of yourself on film?
Chad
Everything sort of happened in a sequence of events. Right after my divorce, I
found myself in a bad situation where my job was not working out and a lot of
other things. I started dating this guy and his friend owned a dance troupe and
so I started doing the dancing. While I was dancing, some photographers
approached me about being in some magazines (Inches)
and so I started doing pictures for them. From the exposure of the photos,
people said I should do porn. A lot of people had always told me that,
especially people that I had slept with (laughing)…so when I moved to New York,
this photographer named Chuck
introduced me to
Michael Lucas and as soon as I met
him he said he was putting me in his next video. So, two weeks later I shot
Fire Island Cruising 1
with Michael Lucas
and then everything just happened for me after that.
GIO
Very cool, so your first film was Fire
Island Cruising 1 and you started the
tradition, so to speak, of that series.

Chad
Yeah, and now we are up to Fire Island
Cruising 8.
GIO
That is awesome. I know you started with Lucas and then ventured out to other
studios, who else did you do work for?
Chad
Right, I did Falcon,
Catalina,
Chi Chi Larue’s
company Rascal Video,
Mustang, Jocks, Big Blue…you
name it and I have probably worked for them (laughs).
GIO Yeah, you have been highly exposed (Laughing)
Chad
HIGHLY EXPOSED, yes! (Laughing) Maybe too much and that is why I took a little
break for a while.

GIO
Yes, let’s talk about that for a moment. I know that you took a year away from
the business and then recently came back to
Lucas Entertainment
and signed on as an exclusive. Tell me about that arrangement and what made you
decide to get back into it after taking the time off.
Chad
Well, I have been pursing my school and wanted to focus on that. This is
actually my last semester and it was really hectic trying to do homework and
projects for school and flying every weekend across the country to shoot
movies. You know, your weekend is really the time when you need to be doing
homework and studying, and it just wasn’t working out for me to maintain that
schedule and do well in school. So, when
Michael Lucas
approached me and said “why not sign an exclusive deal with me, you can
stay in New York and work when it is convenient for you,” so for me it
worked out very well and now I do not have to fly across the country and I can
stay at home in New York and do shoots that take only a few hours when I have
the time for it. So, it has worked out very well for me (big smile).
GIO
Excellent! Congratulations on almost being done with school, what are you
studying in school?
Chad
I am a History Major with a focus on Adolescent Education. I will be doing my
student teaching next semester in New York and I am looking forward to it.
GIO
That is very cool. Have you been recognized while attending college for your
film work?
Chad
You know, we have to do field experiences at schools and all three schools that
I have been to so far, there has been one teacher that I have slept with…so
(nervous laughter) it is interesting when you walk down the hall and you see
that person and they give that knowing glance. At school I have had professors
come up to me and say “I love your movies” and various stuff like that.
It can be embarrassing sometimes when you are with people that do not know that
aspect of my life and someone will come up and say something like “On my god…I
love your movies…” (Lauging) you know…
GIO
Yeah, I can see where that would be awkward. Well you were featured on
HBO for
the documentary
Thinking XXX chronicling the making
of the Timothy Greenfield-Sanders
book XXX – 30 Porn Star Portraits
and that was pretty mainstream exposure for you …so there are people out there
that did not see you on that show?
Chad
Yeah, believe it or not there are people out there that have not seen that or
the other things that I have been on. But, for the most part I do not mind
being recognized.
GIO
Speaking of school, tell me what type of young person you were when you were in
school, were you outgoing and popular?
Chad
You know it kind of depended. I fluctuated in schools because my parents
traveled a lot and we were back and forth between Ohio and Arizona. Many times
I was one of the most popular kids at school and sometimes I was the big geek.
It just depended on the school and what crowd was in at that school. I never
fit into all the categories like the Jocks and Stoners… but I did fit into some
of them. I had to play it by ear based on the new school I was going to. So
sometimes I was in and sometimes I wasn’t.
GIO
Gotcha…You mentioned earlier that you were married. Tell me about your coming
out process and how you processed your sexual identity.
Chad
Umm…I have always known that I was Bi and I still find women attractive…
although I do not have relations with them anymore. Not that I would never have
sex with a woman again, I certainly would, but I am currently dating a man. I
have realized that when it comes to relationships, I am more compatible with
men...me and women usually don’t get along emotionally. Physically I get along
with women fine, but when it comes to emotional compatibility it just isn’t
there with a woman for me as it is with a man.
GIO
Interesting, do you think that is because you and women both like the same
thing…dick (laughing)?
Chad
(Big Laugh) you know…that could be it!
GIO
Well that is cool that you have a deeper connection with a male than a female…
Chad
Absolutely! You know I have no qualms about people using terms gay or bi to
describe me, but for me I do not conform to one thing. For me, if it is someone
I like and I am with them, than I am with them…so if it is a man, it’s a man and
if it is a woman, it’s a woman or if it were a trannie, it would be a trannie…you
never know (Smiles).
GIO
Well that is a great outlook on relationships and sexuality. And, since your
boyfriend is here with you, I must say he is very handsome…and a good choice!
(All laugh and he gives his BF a big smile). So, let’s switch gears and go
below the belt for a moment…as I would be remiss if I did not talk about what
you are most known for in the gay porn world, and that is your…
Chad
My Eyes! (laughs)
GIO
Actually, you do have beautiful eyes and for all of you reading this, you should
take a look at Chad’s eyes if you have not done so before. (All laughing) Was
there a point in your childhood where you knew you were different than the other
guys?

Chad
No, you see that was the thing for me because I was a late bloomer. Most of the
guys developed between 14 and 16 and I was like 17 when I went through puberty.
Where I grew up you did not have gym class after the 9th grade, so I
did not have anyone else to compare to. I remember being in the locker room in
7th and 8th grade and everyone making fun of me and they
called me “Pee-Wee” because I still had not gone through puberty.
At that age, there were guys that had bigger dicks and hair…there I was, still a
little boy with nothing and that was interesting.
But, after I got married I got a job working at the
Smuckers Company
and I would get covered in the fruit from making the jelly and they had showers
at the worksite. The first time I was covered with the fruit I had to take a
shower and when I got undressed, I think every guy in there turned and went
(Making a bold eye gesture of disbelief) and it was a small town and rural and
it was weird to me that they all looked at me. They nicknamed me Donkey
at work and then everyone referred to me as Donkey, even the women. (Laughing).
GIO
Donkey…ok that is appropriate I guess (all laughing). So, after performing in a
lot of movies over the years, is there a particular movie role that stands out
as most representative of you?
Chad
The funny thing is that I do not think any of the videos I have done represent
me. All of my videos represent Chad
Hunt and he is a character that I play
and he is not necessarily who I am and he does not represent what I necessarily
do in my personal life. Chad is usually a very rough and aggressive person and
I am actually pretty nice and sweet (smiles and laughs).
GIO So, you have a romantic side huh?
Chad
(Dramatic pause) actually, yes! I am very much a hopeless romantic and I would
like nothing better that to do a movie (looking at BF) with someone who is
actually my boyfriend and we are in a committed relationship together and we
have nice romantic sex…that would be great! But, as Chad I am always cast as
the dirty janitor that seduces the young boy…or the one that gets somebody to
cheat on their boyfriend…or the one that handcuffs someone and stuff like
that…so unfortunately I have not been cast as the nice guy yet. Perhaps it is
the tattoos, I don’t know.
GIO
Well since you are sort of a country boy, if they decide to make the porn
version of BrokeBack Mountain,
you would be up for the romantic lead huh?
Chad
Please! Let me be Ennis (Heath
Ledger’s character), I would love that!
GIO
If you could choose anyone to do your next film with and perhaps do that
romantic scene with, who would it be and why?
Chad
If it were a romantic scene I would love it to be the person that I am dating
(Looks at his BF), but I know that he would never do a movie. If I had to pick,
there is somebody that I did a video with a number of years ago and he is no
longer in the business. But, he and I had a really good connection and he is
someone that I could easily do a romantic scene with. His name is
Brian McClaine
from Falcon
and he was great to work with and I know I could do a great scene with him
again. He would make a great Jack to my Ennis.
GIO Sounds awesome! Now for some fun…boxers or briefs?
Chad
Commando!
GIO You will have the snake down the leg…ok. (Both laugh) Dogs or
cats?
Chad
Dogs! I have two Basset Hounds.
GIO
If I were to ask your two closest friends what your best quality is, what would
they tell me?
Chad
That I am very giving and that I am always there if they need me.
GIO What would they tell me is your biggest opportunity for improvement?
Chad
They would probably say…this is not true though…but they might say I have a big
head. But perhaps that is just them being a little bit jealous (Laughs).
GIO What do you consider is your best attribute?
Chad
Myself…I think I have pretty eyes. But I really do not like too much of my own
body.
GIO
Since you are performing live tonight at Cupids, tell me how performing is for
you?
Chad
I am actually a pretty shy person, believe it or not. So it is difficult for me
and it takes me a while to mentally prepare. I sometimes sit for hours before a
show and go over and over in my head the performance. Like tonight, the CD that
I brought with me is not compatible with the system here at the club and
everything I had planned with the music will now be different and I will have to
wing it. I thought to myself, oh my god! So being naturally shy it is
difficult for me. I have to put on a character to get out there. I put on the
same character I use in the movies and for me becoming someone else makes it
easier. Once I am out there and doing it, all is great! It is just the
building up to it that drives me crazy (laughs).
GIO
So you use the same mental and character preparation for performing live and in
your movies?
Chad
Absolutely…it is crazy hours before. But once the camera turns on and it is two
inches from your balls…you are ready to go.
GIO Is this the first time doing full nudity live?
Chad
Oh no… (Laughs) All of my shows are usually nude. When you come to see me, you
do not come to see someone in shorts or a costume dancing. You come to see my
dick and I know that.
GIO
There are not many clubs in the USA that allow full nudity like
Cupids Cabaret.
Chad
(Laughs) True! But generally clubs will kinda bend the rule and lock the doors,
make sure the coast is clear, and I get naked real quick for everyone to see…I
have actually had situations where in the middle of my show, I started to show
more that I was supposed to, and the club cut the music and ended the show. My
attitude is that I know what people come to see, and it is not me in a pair of
little shorts. I mean, C’mon, how fun is that…I do not have the best body and I
know that, so they come to see my big dick.
GIO
Yes, I understand you are famous for your big dick. Let’s go beyond your
amazing dick for a moment and discuss your body art…you do have a lot of
tattoos…tell me about them.
Chad
Cool…I have a tattoo of my son on my right arm; I have a sunburst on my belly
because I am a big sun worshipper. The arm band on my lower arm is actually a
matching tattoo with the first guy I married and the butterfly is symbolic of my
change from Heterosexual to being just sexual and my new life. The tribal one
at the top is just a design that I love and I have an angel getting head from
the devil on my back because I hate organized religion, so that was my way to
piss them off and my mom (laughs).
GIO Very cool. So your parents know what you do?
Chad
Everybody knows and I have never been ashamed of anything that I do.
GIO Aside from the porn industry, what are you passionate about in life?
Chad
Wow…I am very big into children’s advocacy...especially gay children because of
how they are more or less treated in the school systems. I do not believe in
separation of schools though. I know in NYC they have the
Harvey Milk School
just for gay students. But, I do not believe in segregation and would rather
see assimilation of all students. So, I am very passionate about education as
the key to getting over the stereotypes and prejudices that exist today.
GIO
That was very well said! (Big smile) Especially since you are going into
education yourself and will no doubt have an impact. I noticed that you do not
have your own website like many other porn stars out there. Is that something
you are interested in doing?
Chad
You know; porn was never something that I saw myself doing for such a long time
or as long as I have been doing it now. If I would have been smarter, I
probably would have had a website by now. Well I did have one for a short while
through Chi Chi Larue’s
company, but I pulled it down mainly because I am lazy and maintaining it and
posting stuff about me regularly was tough for me. Mainly I am a private person
and they wanted a journal to be on there and it had a forum where people would
ask all kinds of personal questions and since I am a pretty private person I did
not like doing that. Also they want live shows with that little camera on the
internet and I do not think the quality of that looks very good. For me, it was
all about just doing the movies and no more.
GIO
I can understand the amount of work that goes into a website, for sure! How
long is your contract with Lucas Entertainment and what do you plan to do after
it is up?
Chad
My contract is for 2 years and at the end of that contract I will have a
Directorial debut of at least one film for
Michael Lucas.
That is something I would like to do either just for him or others as well, but
also to get out of being in front of the camera and more behind the scenes. We
will see in a couple years how that goes…
GIO
Is there anything else that is important to you that you would like to share
with the readers?
Chad
You know, I do get a lot of Emails and people say they have seen me out at a
club or something like that and they were intimidated to walk up to me and say
hello. So, I would tell people to not be intimidated by me and come up to me
and say hello, I am very friendly and just a normal person.
GIO Well Chad, I thank you again

With the interview
complete, I went back out into the club to join his other fans for the show.
The crowd on hand for his Friday night performance was perhaps the largest crowd
ever assembled at
Cupids Cabaret for a porn star. When
Chad took the stage, he had the crowd in a total frenzy and all that shyness
he talked about was completely gone! This man sure knows how to put on a show
and of course he knows how to work his “Donkey” as well. Not since watching the
film Caligula,
have I seen so many hands groping and stroking and Chad was more than willing to
oblige his fans. My hat goes off to Brandy, Cupids Queen “B” for booking
