Lips Grand Opening Weekend is Scheduled for November 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th!

South Florida is loving Lips Drag Dining.

After opening two very successful restaurants in New York and San Diego, the gals packed up their belongings and headed to the Fort Lauderdale suburb of Oakland Park.

On our most recent trip we enjoyed a show by Joe Posa who performed fabulously as Joan Rivers, Liza Minnelli and Barbara Streisand. The show was an entertaining multimedia extravaganza including lights, video and music sung both live and lip synched with incredible costumes and a convincing performance. In short, it was a righteous act of hilarity that had to be seen to be believed.

On regular nights, the house Divas include a spectacular and varied array of entertainers that embrace local, state and national pageant title holders.

How's the food? Like the Divas, it's dished out with a flair. It's also named after the Queens that entertain and serve. We like the "Cashetta", herb roasted chicken, peas and sundried tomatoes in a porcini mushroom cream sauce served over tri-colored rotini. and "The world famous Divine", grilled filet mignon served with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus topped with a light marsala wine mushroom sauce.  

For entrees we've tried the "Porsche" South of the Border Quesadillas and the "Champagne Bordeaux" crab cakes. Everything is quite tasty and as we mentioned, served with a flair.

As you can see on the left, there are theme nights virtually every day of the week. The restaurant is closed on Mondays. You'll need to make a reservation. Shows start every two hours, but show up a few minutes early and enjoy a cocktail at the bar.

Lips is the ultimate in drag dining and they're open in Fort Lauderdale / Wilton Manors / Oakland Park Florida. The gay and lesbian restaurant, bar and nightclub is open seven days a week. Gospel Brunch starting at noon every Sunday is already a huge hit.
