Wooden Hangers Say So Much
You know
that when you go over to a person’s house, if given the
access, you will snoop. Be it in the bathroom, kitchen, or
bedroom, we will all take a peek into the items that make up
the person we are with. How about, when they open your
closet, you have wooden hangers? A simple thing as really
good hangers, such as wooden ones, can bring you depth,
personality, and knowledge without ever having to say a
word. Plastic hangers (or as my Granmaw calls them Happy
Hangers), are for the Dorms. We are grown ups—and our
clothes are more than just something piled on the floor.
With a simple added touch of wooden hangers, it shows to
everyone that may look upon them that you: know about
clothes, you value your investments, and are stable enough
to afford them. Sad part is, you can easily purchase a case
of them at Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens & Things for an
affordable price—and still get the same reaction.

Between the Pages
Strange Tribe
So
you think your family is strange. You think no one
understands. John Hemingway does—and then some! How
would you like to grow up with the patriarch of your
family is adored by the world as a literary genius? How
about a family curse? There are thousands of families
with histories of depression and mental illnesses…but
how many make the New York Times? Well, all of that and
then a cross-dressing Dad who goes full-Trannie and
loses the “Greg” to become “Gloria.” Even though John
was in diapers when Ernest committed suicide, he is able
to piece together his family tree, the ones the papers
seemed to overlook to come out with a great work that
deals with family struggles, both internally and
externally.
