From Under The Sea To Art
Are you fascinated by Disney’s The Little Mermaid or
Pirates of the
Caribbean?
Well, if you have some creativity, and some money, you
too can get a one-of-a-kind Octopus Chandelier! You may
think that it is kind of creepy, but if you did not know
it could be just an ornate light fixture. Creator
Adam Wallacavage created this idea from the
jellyfish and decided to work with octopuses through
hand-blown glass, affixing anything from pearls to
Swartsky crystals to make them ornate and unique. Adam
is a photographer, sculptor, mold maker, silk screener,
carpenter, as well as an Interior Designer. He
currently has a show at Space1026 dot com and at The
Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York City. http://www.space1026.com/space.php?action=portfolio&t=493&uID=22

Georgia
O'Keeffe: Circling Around Abstraction
through May
6, 2007
Organized by the Norton Museum of Art, Georgia
O'Keeffe: Circling Around Abstraction is the first
exhibition to highlight this renowned American painter's
individual approach to the issue of abstraction, a
stylistic strategy which in many ways preoccupied
artists throughout the 20th century.
The exhibition brings together fifty-one of O'Keeffe's
works to illuminate the various and evolving ways she
used circular forms and motifs as the means whereby she
organized, simplified, and even energized her
compositions.
Both the exhibition and its catalogue, with every work
illustrated in color, will enhance both popular
appreciation and scholarly understanding of the artist's
significant contribution to the development of American
modernism.

Some Men
Imagine a
play set in a gay bathhouse in the mid 1970’s and
contains four actors but fifteen different characters?
Got your attention now! This Terrence McNally play
opened last week at the Second Stage Theater and was in
a setting where men were known to ask men to do all
sorts of things—but marriage definitely was not
one of them. Taking place during eight decades,
Some Men is a series of breezy sketches about
gay American life from The Hamptons to a Harlem nightclub in 1932 to a preppy piano bar in
Greenwich Village during the Stonewall uprising in 1969
and also a waiting room in an AIDS ward in 1989. The
Second Stage Theater is located at 307 West 43rd
Street in Clinton and for tickets and further
information, call them at 212*246-4422. Catch it if you
can, it only runs until April 15th. For
further information go to
