Battling Love Handles - Five Oblique Exercises for a Sexy Core

Exercises like crunches and leg raises are essential to developing killer abs and a healthy lower back, but that’s not all you need. The obliques are an important part of your core and require a program of their own. “Love handles” are the term “affectionately” used to describe those problem areas where fat accumulates around the waist and oblique areas. To avoid the unwanted baggage you must, of course, watch your nutrition and perform movements such as twists, bends and lunges. More after the Jump, Five Oblique Exercises for a Sexy Core

This summer is no exception, with the Harvard Baseball team covering Call Me Maybe by newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen. We thought you might like to take a look at the sexy guys from Harvard and relive a few of these videos from years gone by. With a combined viewership of over 20 million, we ask, is this how summer anthems are found nowadays?

Sublime Sonoma County

Napa County generates a lot of global buzz, but neighboring Sonoma County is hardly the “Rhoda” of wine country. Less gimmicky than its celebrated neighbor, Sonoma County offers a mom-and-pop approach to experiencing wine country, heavy on the artisanal wineries and light on the pre-packaged tour buses. In addition to its (literally) intoxicating world of vineyards, Sonoma County flaunts the landscapes of storybooks - miles of rugged rock-hewn coastline, towering Redwood Trees, and picturesque sleepy towns along the Russian River, each one more charming than the next. The One & Only Palmilla and Cultural Endeavors
The southern Capes of the Baja Peninsula or “Los Cabos” have long served as the west coast’s answer to the distant Caribbean and even more remote pacific islands. Since tourism began here in the late seventies, the scramble for the twenty-mile corridor between the towns of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas inevitably littered the dramatic desert landscape with its fair share of gimmicky hotels, however, it also endowed the Cape crossroads with some of the most lavish, show-stopping resorts, aptly fit for their regular Hollywood A-list clientele. Point in case: The One and Only Palmilla

CuisinArt, Caneel Bay, and The Buccaneer: Legends of the Caribbean

Long before minimalism, modernism, and multitudes of massive all-inclusive resorts conquered the aquamarine shorelines of the Caribbean, luxury tourism in the region was defined by just an exclusive handful, self-contained complexes of leisure and pleasure. From CuisinArt’s Grecian extravaganza on Anguilla’s stunning Rendezvous Bay, to the snorkeling haven of Caneel Bay nestled within Virgin Islands National Park in St. John, to the lesser known sands of St. Croix at the family-friendly Buccaneer, these three legacy hotels refuse to change their iconoclastic styles. Pacific Paradise, Part 1 & 2
Bora Bora: Encompassing a surface area larger than the continent of Europe, Tahiti’s 118 islands are a bastion of majesty, mystery and beauty scattered over the Pacific Ocean. As French Polynesia’s big-city equivalent, 21st century Tahiti proper has fallen victim to destructive, anthropogenic realities like traffic, crime, and pollution. Nowadays, most visitors to French Polynesia bypass Tahiti en route to the more attractive islands. Thankfully, one of the most beautiful of islands is but a thirty-minute ferry ride away – Moorea. More after the Jump, Pacific Paradise: Tahiti & Moorea

Tahiti & Hilton Moorea Lagoon and Spa: The treasured island of French Polynesia’s Society Islands, Bora Bora, gracefully holds the title as the castaway gem synonymous with such terms as “paradise” and “heaven.” Over the past forty years, high-end resorts have risen over Bora Bora’s lush pockets of land and crystalline lagoons. The island’s immaculate conception of the overwater bungalow revolutionized the travel market with the romance of private suites straddling the ocean floor, immersed in an unknown world of aquamarines and emerald hues. Yakko-San, Best Late Night Eats in America

Details Magazine declared that Yakko-San is the "Best Late Night Eats in America". Serving sushi and Japanese delights until 3 am makes this a favorite spot for the late night after hours crowd. The tempura anything is to die for. The miso is divine. The sushi is incredibly fresh. The desserts are an adventure. The menu is filled with tapas like small plates intended for passing and sharing. A good rule of thumb is for light eaters to each order one plate and heavy eaters two. The vast majority of plates are around $10, but there are few under $5 and a few around $15. Location and more info here: Yakko-San Sushi North Miami Beach
